Peninsula Clean Energy customers will see a new name on their monthly utility bills starting July 17. The electricity provider for more than 314,000 households and businesses across San Mateo County and Los Banos has renamed itself to WestLight Energy, effective July 1.
Founded in 2016, the 10-year-old public agency prides itself on providing 50% renewable and 100% clean energy at a lower cost than PG&E.
“We look forward to serving the people of San Mateo County and Los Banos for decades to come,” said Shawn Marshall, WestLight Energy’s CEO. “While our name is changing, our commitment to delivering exceptional service, customer savings and clean energy remains the same.”
