Law enforcement cleared the Douglas Avenue area following an active investigation in North Fair Oaks.
San Mateo County sent an alert at around 10:56 am on Monday, Jan. 13, advising the public of an active investigation on Douglas Avenue.
“Avoid the area and expect increased law enforcement presence,” the alert read.
The county declined to provide any details about the situation.
The sheriff’s office has since said that the area has been cleared and that “there is no threat to the public” but that the investigation remains ongoing.
