It’s that time of year again—Girl Scout Cookies are back! Starting Friday, Feb. 14, on Valentine’s Day, local troops will be setting up booths all over Redwood City, ready to sell those classic cookies we all know and love.
Sure, you can always order online at ilovecookies.org, but there’s something special about picking up a box (or a few) in person and supporting local Girl Scouts directly. This year’s lineup includes all the favorites—Thin Mints, Caramel deLites, and Peanut Butter Patties—plus a little bittersweet news: Toast-Yay! is retiring after this season, so grab a box while you can!
“Girl Scouts develop essential skills in goal setting, decision making, money management, people skills, and business ethics,” said Mary-Jane Strom, interim CEO of Girl Scouts of Northern California, in a news release. “Every purchase funds their dreams and fuels their journey toward leadership and impact.”
More than 16,000 Girl Scouts across Northern California are gearing up to sell a whopping 4.3 million boxes of cookies. At $7 per box, every purchase helps fund programs that empower young leaders, according to a news release by the Girl Scouts of Northern California.
