The California Highway Patrol issued a silver alert for a missing 95-year-old man early Thursday for Santa Clara and San Mateo counties on behalf of the Palo Alto Police Department.
Jack Birnbaum was last seen at about 6:40 p.m. Wednesday in the town of Stanford, according to a 12:36 a.m. tweet Thursday from the CHP.
He is described as 5 feet, 8 inches tall, about 130 pounds, with gray hair and is believed to be wearing glasses and hearing aids.
Birnbaum was also sighted at a gas station in Menlo Park around 5:45 a.m., Palo Alto police said Thursday in a tweet.
Authorities said Birnbaum may be driving a 2005 silver Toyota Camry, with the California license plate 5NSE242. Anyone who sees Birnbaum is urged to call 9-1-1.
