The city of Redwood City is advising residents to be cautious near tracks as Caltrain has expanded its electric train testing to the entire San Francisco to San Jose corridor, which will occur on weeknights between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m.
The city advised residents in a newsletter to be cautious during these times as trains may pass unexpectedly.
The testing, part of an initiative to modernize services for a fall 2024 passenger launch, may increase noise levels due to train horns and grade crossing signals.
Caltrain has scheduled adjustments for April 20-21, advising riders to seek alternatives due to disruptions.
Replacement bus service will cover the first four northbound and three southbound trains from San Francisco to Mountain View, stopping only at major stations such as San Francisco, Millbrae, Hillsdale, Redwood City, Palo Alto, and Mountain View.
